A chi-square test is performed when there are two categories within the sample population. This test will find out if any association is present between these two categories or not. Chi-square testing can be utilised only if the data can be split clearly into categories. This testing has four steps. This first step is statement of the hypothesis i.e. null hypothesis and alternate hypothesis. The second step is creation of an data analysis plan. The sample data is analysed in the next step and the final results are interpreted in the last step.
