Hypothesis testing is when statistics is utilised for the determination the stated hypothesis’s probability as being true. This is usually done by testing the hypothesis on a small sample of data obtained from a larger population. Hypothesis testing is done in four steps. In the first step state the hypothesis; both the null and alternate hypothesis are stated here as mutually exclusive hypothesis. In the second step formulate a plan for data analysis where the sample data is evaluated through the null hypothesis. The third step involves the analysis of sample data. The final step is the interpretation of the results brought forth by the analysis plans.
